Liam Wiebe is a Web Developer for a local SaaS company, a Web Designer / Data Analyst at a local marketing agency, and the owner of his own web design company.

In the past 5 years he’s designed, developed, and maintained hundreds of WordPress websites, and has taught industry professionals across the country about their digital presence.

Course Overview

The WordPress 101 course is a six-week program with twice-weekly sessions that equips students with essential skills for building and managing a WordPress website. The curriculum covers everything from the basics of the WordPress dashboard to advanced page building, SEO optimization, and the use of tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Students will learn to create content, design page layouts, and manage domain settings. With nine detailed lessons and practical assessments, participants will develop a fully functional, customized website and gain the confidence to manage it independently by the course's end.

FAQs

  • The 24 hours of in-class instruction takes place over 1 and a half months (6 weeks), twice a week, for two hours each session.

  • If you're paying everything out of pocket, it will cost you $9,000, however, with the CSJG, your employer can sponsor you and pay as little $2,280*. All taxes are included.

    *This estimation is assuming your company has less than 50 employees and you are paid for your time to take the course at a rate of $30/hr

  • While there are a few requirements you'll need to tick to be eligible, here are the main things to look out for:

    • Is your company paying going to pay for this course?

    • Are you new to the company, will be hired after taking this course, or need this course to help with your existing position?

    • Do you have an employer-employee relationship with the employer applying for the CSJG funding?

    • Are you legally able to work in Canada?

  • Yes! We provide you with a certificate of completion at the end, articulating your new-found skills to your employer and to show off on your latest social media post!

  • Not in the usual sense. As adults, you won't be monitored to ensure you complete assignments. You'll have ample class time for projects, but any unfinished work should be done outside of class. Tests are conducted in-class as group activities to gather constructive criticism and improve your work.
